About the metadata fields on Townbase Platform:
Townbase Platform offers an additional feature for all whitelabel clients which allows further optimization of Topics for search engines.
The feature allows Admins to set additional descriptions for
- H1 (Title)
- Body (description of the page)
These additional fields are also supporting multiple languages. These fields are specifically made available for search engines and they do not appear on the service for site visitors.
Instructions:
H1 Title
Describe the title of your page with keywords you want to be found on. Use natural language. This title will be visible on Google and Bing for example and your website's page "title". Make sure the title make sense also to people as it will be visible for them on via search results.
Good example: London music events today
(Place, type of content and category, and typical additional search word when searching events)
Bad example: Music
Body i.e.: Description of the page
Good example: London offers exclusive and amazing jazz gigs by the likes of Coltraine and heavy metal bands like Children of Bodom every day. Madonna is a frequent artist in London's unique venues like Royal Albert Hall and O2 Arena. Find out more about music scene and events, gigs and concerts on Townbase.
(Place, type of content and category, artists, venues frequency and typical additional search word when searching events)
Bad example: Music events
NOTE:
You still need to define the normal H1 and Body for the Topics like before. These new metadata fields are supplied only for search engines to help them understand your page content better. Normal H1 and Body are still needed and visible for site visitors.
